XBox 360 Wireless Controller Connectivity Problems (30 feet from console)?

I have my Xbox360 in a media closet that is approximately 30 feet away from where I use the controllers in front of the TV. Moving the console is not an option because the receiver is located in the media closet. I can connect to the xbox with my controllers (and I have tried fully charging the batteries to no avail), however, my controller disconnects about once every other minute or so. The problem seems to be more pronounced when a game CD is actually spinning. Any ideas?

Well, whether it’s an option or not, your XBOX controller will continue to have these problems until you move the console. These controllers are designed for use in the same room as the console, at a distance of up to 10/15 meters at the most. You need to either move the console closer to the TV or bring the TV closer to the XBOX.

It could also be electronic interference – if you have a lot of electronics surrounding the XBOX, then the electromagnetic field around the electronics will interfere with the Wifi signal and make it weaker. Try to have the XBOX on top of everything else, rather than surrounded by everything else. But most likely, it’s the distance from the XBOX causing the problems.

Hope this helps,

Tom.
