What was your first ever games machine and or computer?
My very first games console, was the atari 2600 VCS, had it when i was around 5 in 1987, but december 25th 1989 christmas saw me opening my first Spectrum +2A 128K with the action lightgun pack, amazing stuff! Even had a light gun version of the coin op conversion of Operation Wolf! Took ages to load on the audio cassette but it was great!
Apparently, I had a commodore 64, but I don’t remember it.
The first one I remember was an Apple 2GS. That was in the pre-Mac days of apple. It had no hard drive. I could play Oregon Trail on it. Classic Game.
I really liked the Quest games (King’s Quest, etc.) on my IBM PS2, which had an enormous 64 megabyte drive. It also played Nibbles and Gorilla for Q-Basic and ran Windows 3.1. I was in awe.
I finally got an SNES not long before they stopped making them. It still works, but for some reason it runs only in Black and White. Somehow it makes it feel more classic to see Mario and Street Fighter II without color, even though they were never intended to be played that way.
