What’s better, an Intel Core-i7 or Core-2 Duo?

The Core i7 clocks at 1.73 GHz, has 4 cores (quad), and has a turbo mode of 3.06 GHz.
The Core-2 Duo has a clock speed of 2.8 GHz, has two cores (dual), and has no turbo that I’m aware of.

The i7 is a lot better. There are 4 cores, including a higher cache of about 2 MB. When turbo mode is active, you can see that 3.06 GHZ x4 cored cpu compared to a 2.8 ghz x2 cored cpu is a lot faster.
