How to play my friend in Star Wars Battlefront 2 with an Ethernet cable to the computer?

My friend and I have a bad Internet connection, if Play Star Wars Battlefront 2 with each other via an Ethernet cable. My problem is how do I get 2 CF-18 laptops to work with Ethernet cable to play against itself. Thank you for your help!

What's normal work. You have to play Battlefront 2 wireless LAN or GameSpy. I know that is sucks, I tried to play and when I had dial-up. Sorry.
