What are some good tips on playing a Mage in Oblivion (Xbox360)?

I’m playing a pure mage (all magic skills as major skills). What are some good pointers/tips for doing well?

Raise your Intelligence, Wear equipment that will raise your magic. Your going to completely work on that if you want to do things like summon high level creatures.
